Question
I am 19yr old boy, doing pre-sea training to join ship. My problem is that, I have only one testis in my scrotum since my birth. I have no problem/pain in my pelvic muscles and I involve myself in various sports activities. I would like to know whether there will be any problem in the reproduction process, and will it affect my career? I masturbate twice in a week, but I don't feel any weakness during masturbating. PLEASE ADVICE.
Answer
A single testicle does not cause a reproductive problem. However you must get investigated to find out where is the other testis. An ultrasound may help. If the other testis is in the abdomen, it would be better to have it removed due to increased risk of cancer in that. If the other testis is not seen at all, it is best to leave it alone.
