My kid 2 years 8 months, he used to get wheezing. My Doctor has suggested me to give Montleukast 4 mg Preventer (Sodium Tablet) for 3 to 6 months daily. Whether It will be having any side effect.

Montelukast is a relatively safe drug for the treatment of intermittent asthma. The common side effects seen are headache, pain, abdominal pain, dry mouth, drowsiness, tiredness, stomach upset, nausea and muscle pain. However it is preferable not to give in children less than 4 years of age.
