Question :
I have RH negative blood, my husband is o postive. We just had a miscarriage at 7 weeks. I now know i have rh and this is why . I got the shot of rhogam so now my doctor says we can't try for a yr.cause my hormone levels are not down enough. Does anyone know if this true.
Answer
The standard rhogam preparations contain the mercury compound, thimerosal which may have some problems in the developing fetus if given during preganancy. Hence it would be better to avoid pregnancy till at least 3 months after the injection.
