My 7 year old granddaughter has periods of severe body odor. It does not seem to be associated with physical activity. She is active, athletic, appears healthy, is clean, but there are some periods when she is very offensive to be near. Her sister teases her and I am concerned that this will become a greater problem as she matures. Is there something we should be watching or tests the doctor should be performing?
Answer
She may be sweating excessively. Use an antibacterial soap to prevent bacteria from growing when she sweats. Also daily bath twice a day (once in morning and once in evening) would be useful. Back to All Questions
