Question
Hi, my identical twin boys are two(will be three next month)were born 2 months early and now they are knocked kneed. The last twin is even worse and people joke at him .If you saw him standing with no pants on you would see a design of a "x". That's how close his knees are touching. Their father is bowlegged so why are they knocked kneed? They drink milk every day .Is too much milk to much?
Answer
Knock knees could be due to a variety of causes such as rickets (vitamin D, calcium or phosphorus deficiency), renal tubular acidosis or renal disease. It could also be an inherent bone disease. Get the child's X rays of the knees, blood tests for rickets and RTA. Consult a pediatric nephrologist and orthopedic surgeon for the same
