Question
My baby is 3 months old and I am not sure what type of bowel movements he should be having, he is breast fed exclusively. He can go 3 or 4 days without a movement and his stool is sticky when he does go, he is gaining weight - 7lbs 6oz at birth he now weighs close to 17lbs. I would appreciate any advice you can give me. Thank you. Heather Di Giacomo
Answer
A breast fed baby may have several motions in a day or one motion in several days. Till the child is gaining weight and does not pass hard stools, that is normal and one should not worry about it.
