Question
How long does a virus, such as the common cold, stay virulent enough to be caught by other children? And how long would a child be in contact with the sick child to be infected?
Answer
Common cold usually takes about 7 days to resolve with or without treatment. A child is infective a few days prior to the symptoms and 3-4 days after the symptoms.
