Question
My 9 month old baby has diarrhea doctor has stopped his milk and asked me to keep him on pedialyte please advice if I should do anything else and what I need to do for his milk cravings
Answer
Sometimes infective diarrhea may lead to secondary lactose intolerance which may lead to prolonged diarrhea on milk ingestion. In such cases, stopping the milk may stop the diarrhea. Soya milk as a substitute may be tried. There are other lactose free, soya free milk available as milk powders that can also be used.
