Question
My 3yr old son is scheduled for ear tubes, adenoids removal and also tonsil. Due to about 10 ear infection since he has been born. We did a hearing test and he was flat lined in both ears I mean pressure test on the ear drum. He had an x-ray of his adenoids that are enlarged. He just had 3 ear infections in the past 2 months and hand foot and mouth disease now has strep throat again. Is this the right thing we should do also has hearing lose a little? My doctor is very good just wanted reassurance that this is the right thing to do
Answer
More than 4 -6 episodes of tonsillitis and ear infection in a year would be an indication for tonsillectomy. Read the article on "OTITIS MEDIA" on

Also, he seems to have had too many infections in 2 months. An underlying immune dysfunction should be ruled out.
