Question
My 5 year old son has a knot a little larger than a marble on the size of his neck. It doesn't seem to bother him and hasn't complained about it. He is very active. I took him in for a physical for school and they told me probably just swollen lymph node. That has been about 6 weeks ago and it is still there. Should I get some antibiotics? He does seem to have a persistent cold though.
Answer
Since he has had fever for more than 3 days and has high fever, a bacterial infection should be ruled out. Also a problem of sinusitis should be ruled out.
