Question
My son has a eye condition called horner syndrome. His eye doctor found this and was very concerned because usually children with this condition has neuroblastma. We did a bunch of test chest X-ray, MRI, blood test, but nothing showed up. Ever since this I have not been able to feel at ease on why he has this condition. Do I need to stop worrying about this? He is 9 years old.
Answer
Horner's syndrome can be from birth or acquired later in life. Horner's syndrome can result from neck trauma during birth. Acquired cases can be due to neck trauma, neck surgery, or an abnormality in the chest, neck or brain and with a tumor called as neuroblastoma.
