Question
While visiting my 2 year old grandson I noticed that he put his chin down and looked out of the tops of his eyes while doing puzzles and watching tv even though it was directly in front of him. His eyes are occasionally light sensitive and for some reason he has no desire to look at book but loves intense things such as puzzles and blocks. His grandfather has myopia. Has anyone else noticed this?
Answer
You may rule out a refractive error as it is not unknown in a 2 year old. Sometimes, it may just be a habit and he needs constant reminder to look straight to rectify it.
