My son had an eye test at the hospital as he has an autistic spectrum and couldn't do it in school they said when he looks to the left their is a juddering movement it does not flow smoothly. He also has a problem of looking out of his left eye when matching the letters. What do you think is this? He is being referred to a consultant opthamic person. Could you help please thanks
Answer
It could suggest a condition called as nystagmus. This is jerking movements of the eye due to various causes including refractory error, brain problems and other eye disorders. Wait and have him examined by an ophthalmologist.
