Question
My child is going to be one year on 14th August. He is not gaining proper weight past few months. He was born with 2.6kgs and now is 7.7kgs. He is otherwise an active baby. He refuses to eat anything and just wants to breastfed, what would u suggest, should I complete stop breastfeeding completely or do I need to give him some medicine which will help him feel hungry. He just eats two or three spoons and then starts refusing. I've tried homemade as well as ready made food but he just doesn't eat. Please suggest what should I do and what should be him food plan for the day?
Answer
If his height is increasing and he is very active, you need not be worried about the weight.

Also, it is time to start weaning him off the breast milk. You will have to persist in trying new food stuff with him. Do not give into his demands of breast feeding as it will only aggravate the problem. You may continue to give him breast feeds in the night.
There are no tonics or medicines that will make him eat.
