Question
I want to know if kissing (for short time or over weeks) can lead to the gum disease gingivitis? If someone who had the condition kissed another without it, would the disease spread through kissing? Thanks.
Answer
Read the article on "GINGIVITIS" on www.pediatriconcall.com for further information:

Gingivitis.asp

With kissing, the germs may pass on to the other person and theoretical chances of gingivitis are possible. However to develop gingivitis, one needs to have a genetic predisposition.
