Question
Can someone tell me the wt and ht pattern with relation to birth wt and ht in infants e.g. when it doubles tribbles etc. I read it long back in a tabular form in mbbs pediatric book O.P.Ghai thanks,
Answer
Weight doubles by 5 months of age and triples as compared to birth weight by one year of age.
Height increases by 25 cms in first year, 12.5 cms in 2nd year and is 100 cm by 4 years. Height at one year is half the final adult height.
These are just guidelines. One should actually monitor with growth charts.
