Question
I have a three and a half year old premature toddler boy. He is small at 36 inches. Is there a period of "catch up growth" that I should anticipate happening anytime soon? I am 5'3" and his father is 5'8". I have a five month old full term son who is off the charts (big) for height and weight.
Answer
What is more important is to know his growth velocity rather than one static height recording. It is important to plot his height and weight on the growth charts regularly and see how he is catching up. If he is crossing the percentile lines in an upward manner, one should not be worried about it.
