I want to know effect of cynosis & cynotic spells on brain development in case of cynotis heart disease( toff +a canal type vsd)
Answer
Cyanotic spells lead to oxygen deprivation and if long standing may lead to hypoxic damage to the brain. A cyanotic heart disease leads to increase in the hemoglobin content of the blood which increases the viscosity of the blood which may in turn lead to sluggish circulation and increased chances of thrombus formation and stroke.
