Question
What do you mean by IV access? Is it possible that the clotted blood on the abrasion will cover the abrasion from any infection?
Answer
Yes, the clotted blood closes the wound and prevents infection from entering. However if the wound was not cleaned properly in the first place, the germs may be embedded in the wound and that may cause an infection.
