5Years Female referred to h/o fever 20n days, rash 20 days, peeling of palm and sole skin 8days,no lymphadenopathy, I kept the possibility? Scarlet fever? kawasaki disease? ECHO turn out coronary aneurism, started immunoglobin and aspirin, would it help at this stage also?
Answer
Immunoglobulin and high dose aspirin would be useful only in the acute inflammatory stage (high ESR, thrombocytosis, positive CRP). Low dose aspirin is advocated in the chronic phase.
