Question
My 18 month old son has a lump on the right side of his head just above the ear about 2? in length and 1? wide. The lump is raise ever so slightly; only about 1 centimeter. The lump feels hard like bone. It is not at all soft like a tissue tumor would be. He is very normal in every other way. Any ideas what this could be? Is it safe to have a CT done?
Answer
Has the lump come up recently and is it increasing in size? If yes, he needs further evaluation. An X ray of the skull would be useful and only if required, a CT scan may be required.
