Question
I'm 19 this year and I didn't have any menses at all. I went to gynaecologist, they found out that my growth of bone is actually slower than my actual age. For instance when I'm17yrs old, my bone age is only 13 yrs old. In addition they claimed that my hormone level is very low. Is there anything that I can do? Help me to have menses faster?
Answer
You need to find out the cause of the delayed bone age. Endocrine hormone problems should be ruled out. After investigation, your doctor may prescribe estrogen and progesterone tablets to ensure getting puberty if there is no pubertal growth (development of breasts, axillary hair).
