My daughter is 29 days old. Sometimes when she cries, she holds her breath for 10-15 seconds. What should we do the next time. She holds her breath. we are really worried I did her cranial ultrasound. its absolutely normal. Except for her holding breath, she seems to be fine
Was your daughter a premature baby? If yes, you need to consult a neonatologist to rule out apnea of prematurity. However, this sort of periodic breathing in newborns is very common. As long as your baby does not become blue, does not have a fall in her heart rate during that episode of not breathing, has no convulsion and spontaneously breathes on her own without stimulation there is nothing to worry about.
