Question
My cousin's 9 month old boy has S/S including: inspiratory and expiratory wheezes, difficulty breathing, and a rash. From the limited information above what might this be and where can I find more information.
Answer
Does the child have fever? What type of a rash is seen? Your cousin's 9 month child seems to have a viral infection that is causing the rash and the wheezes. The commonest would be measles (if he is unimmunized). Consult your doctor for a complete physical examination so that treatment may be started.
