Question
My baby is 1 month old, he was premature by a month. I breast feed and the Doctor confirms that he is healthy. However, since his last Dr. visit, he has developed what looks like a type of rash, that, is mostly on his face, forhead, cheeks, chin and even on his neck. What is the cause / cure? Thank you.
Answer
It could be something like "erythema toxicum" a self limiting rash seen in full term infants 24-48 hours after birth. In preterms, it may be delayed by a few weeks. The rash is usually on the face, nose, neck and maybe the trunk, lasts for about a week and disappears on its own. Consult your doctor for a clinical examination.
