What is the role of local steroids to be used in an infant of 7 months old with dermatitis for long term?
Answer
Local steroids are anti inflammatory used for the treatment of a variety of skin conditions including atopic dermatitis. There are various strengths of topical ointments available that are used. Prolonged use of low strength steroids does not cause major problems. However long term use of potent steroids may lead to steroid toxicity and atrophic skin. Back to All Questions
