Question
My daughter, one year and 1and a half month old, has no tooth grown yet. Although her other developments are quite good. She suffered from pneumonia when she was 3 months old. How would you advise me?
Answer
At 13 to 14 months, one does normally expect some teeth to be present in the mouth, though, it is not abnormal to not have any. This could be due to a delay or interruption in formation because of the pneumonia. Also maybe there is a genetic predilection for delayed eruption, maternal or paternal. If other milestones are normal, I would not be anxious, but visiting a dentist might be a good idea.
