Question
MY SON, 13 HAS BEEN PASSING SMALL KIDNEY STONES SINCE OCTOBER. HE IS NOW PASSING SOMETHING THROUGH THE URINARY TRACT WHICH APPEARS TO BE OF TISSUE MATTER. ANY SUGGESTIONS AS TO WHAT THIS COULD BE?
Answer
It could be stones that have broken down and formed a slough. It could also denote a urinary tract infection. Get his urine examined and preferably 24 hours urine for calcium, oxalate and uric acid to detect the type of the stone.
