Question
I am a student nurse from Singapore. I want to know when will a nephrotic child be discharged from hospital. Like under what criteria before discharge. Can you please explain? Thanks cause my mum also wants to know that
Answer
Most of the times, nephrotics do not need to be admitted in the hospital until and unless they are very edematous and oliguric or they have an infection. Most of them are discharged once the urine output is adequate, the edema decreases and they are infection free and responding to the medication and do not require any intravenous fluids or drugs.
