Question
My child (4 years old) is suffering from Nephrotic Syndrome since last 9 months. He was not responding to steroids so put on Endoxan & again on steroids. His Urine albumin is not yet Nill. But he is becoming more active & no swelling. I have read one book about wheat grass juice. (i.e green blood therapy) Can I give this to my child? It is rich in proteins & vitamins.
Answer
Wheat grass juice as per ancient Indian medicine is very good antioxidant and good for immunity of the body. There is no restriction in the diet in a child with nephrotic syndrome except for salt restriction, when the child is edematous and good protein intake once the child is edema free.
