Question
Trying to get information on Nesidioblastosis
Answer
Nesidioblastosis is an insulin secreting tumour in the pancreas. It causes low blood sugar. If untreated, nesidioblastosis can lead to brain damage or death secondary to severe low blood sugar. Nesidioblastosis usually presents from birth to age 18 months, with the majority of cases diagnosed shortly after birth. Cases of adult-onset forms of nesidioblastosis are rare. Treatment consists of surgery and pancreatectomy.
