Question
How old should infants be before flying? My daughter is going to fly from New York to San Diego, CA with her 10 day old daughter. I don't think it's safe for the baby. I am concerned about her ears and also about the air quality on the airplane.
Answer
Babies may travel in airplanes as the airplanes now-a-days are pressurized and should have no problems in the ears. However doing take off and landing, it is better to keep the baby sucking at the pacifier or the breast to ensure that the ears remain open and the air pressure in the ear does not change.
