Question
My friend's son aged 7 years is suffering from photophobia disease since his birth. Can you please tell us is there any treatment to this problem and what is the prognosys after treatment?
Answer
Photophobia (abnormal eye sensitivity to light) in children could be due to a variety of causes such as corneal inflammation, aphakia (absent lenses), iritis, or ocular albinism (absence of pigment in the iris). The treatment would depend on the disease causing this symptom. Treatment facility is available in most of the tertiary and private centers in India.
