My niece is 11 yr old and 4feet and 7 inches tall, she had her first period last month. I want to know is it possible for her to gain height now? Thank you.
Answer
Usually menses occurs in girls during stage 3 or 4 of puberty whereas the height increase occurs in stage 1 and 2, i.e. the height grows earlier and menses comes later when the breast development has already advanced. Girls' heights will rarely increase more than 2" after menarche has occurred. Back to All Questions
