Question
My age is 18 male and I have this uncommon problem with my eye vision. I see some small white dots everywhere. I have showed it to doctors, but they do not understand me. What exactly is the problem? Due to which they are unable to solve my problem? Where ever I see there are small white dots like as we usually see on television where there is no incoming signals. Please tell me what is the problem
Answer
What you seem to have is called as "floaters" in the eye. Floaters are shapes which people can see drifting across their vision. The exact form of these is very variable - they may appear as small dots or irregularly shaped strands. The eye is filled by a jelly like substance - the vitreous. As the vitreous ages strands of a protein called collagen become visible within it. These strands swirl gently when the eye moves, giving rise to the perception of floaters. You need to consult an ophthalmologist for the same.
