Question
My daughter is 2yrs old. She had an episode of UTI when she was 18mths old. Then around 15 days back she had high fever, for which I had given her amoxycillin, though the fever responded the urine report showed pus cells 4-6/hpf and trace albumin. A rpt urine after stopping antibiotics shows 8-10 pus cells /hpf. She is completely asymptomatic. What should I do?
Answer
The best would be to get her culture repost on the urine. If she has a negative culture then it is unlikely she has an infection. If the urine culture is positive, she needs treatment for the same.
