Question
My little girl has a cold and she has like a green cakey stuff coming out her eye ducts and it is itchy and has a runny nose. Her eye is not red or pink like when you have conjunctivitis. Is this still conjunctivitis?
Answer
Green discharge from eyes is suggestive of pus in the eye of which bacterial conjuncitivitis may be one of the causes. Pus that forms on the eye appears yellow or green. You need to treat her with antibiotic eye drops and please do read the article on CONJUNCTIVITIS on www.pediatriconcall.com or from the link given below: http://www.pediatriconcall.com/forpatients/CommonChild/eye_problems/
