Question
I have a 21 month old son. He developed a rash like goosebumps 2 months ago. It developed over the weeks and his skin felt like an emery board. His feet have lost layers of skin and his hands are covered in have small blisters. He has blotches on his face and his glands are like small balls on the back of his head. I have seen several doctors and he has had penicillen and a fungal cream. These are not working. I have also these small pinprick blisters under my skin on my hands and they, are at times very painful. My neighbor suggested "Smacked Face Syndrome". I have never heard of this. Can you help? Please.
Answer
He may be having a condition such as Steven Johnson syndrome. Was it precipitated after some drug etc? You need to consult a dermatologist for the same. It would be difficult to comment upon without a proper examination and seeing the blisters.
