Subject: Hi, I need consultation for my 3 and half year son for squint surgery. My child is a special child he has cerebral palsy and his MRI shows occipital area has damage. He is on anti-convulsants and has stabilized on Vigabatrin and lamotregen. He has a -3no. in both his eyes and his eye surgeon wants to operate his squint for correction 2 muscles in the left eye and one in the right eye. The neurologist is not too much in favor of the operation but the opthal is insisting that i should do it. I need help if someone could advise us on this issue I can forward his MRI and EEG reports to the docs. Do you think anyone can help us. Awaiting your response.
Answer
Usually squint surgery is not done before the age of 6 years.

You can also consult any other eye surgeon for a second opinion.
