I was called to the elementary school the other day by the school nurse. She said that she'd found nits on my daughter's hair. She said there were only a few but she wanted to catch them before they hatched. She also said she hadn't seen any bugs. Can you have nits without the actual lice being on the head too? Thanks
Answer
Yes, nits can occur without the actual lice being present on the head. This can occur when the lice lays the eggs (nits) in the hair and passes on to another head.
