Question
All my children are fighting viral symptoms, HA nausea, vomiting (just one) enlarged nodes. They all state their throat feels weird. As I looked I noticed enlarged taste buds throughout their mouths. My child with the vomiting had the worst case. They have no rash on hands, feet, abdomen etc. I have never seen anything like it. I am not truly concerned, but am curious to what could cause this.
Answer
Throat infection, rash, enlarged nodes and vomiting may make one suspect viral infection. Another possibility is infectious mononucleosis (caused by ebstein Barr virus) and a bacterial infection of the throat (less likely). Consult a pediatrician if the symptoms persist or increase.
