Question
My 7-year daughter has recently developed behavior/symptoms of frequently squeezing her eyes shut. It used to be just one eye, now it is both. Could this be medical or behavioral? She says it bothers her, yet she does not rub them, nor do they tear, have any discharge or redness.
Answer
It could be a sort of a tic and the condition may be called as blepharospasm. It aggravates in conditions with emotional stress and fatigue. It needs treatment with behavioral therapy and if very severe then medications to control it can be given.
