Question
Dear Sir, what would be the management or drug of choice for a child with developmental delay izepam. If it is choreoathetosis, haloperidol wouland a ? What can be given for the tic as the tic is causing the child to lose his balance very frequently and fall or bang his head in the wall?
Answer
For troublesome tic, the drug of choice would be daizepam. If it is choreoathetosis, haloperidol would be useful. First, have the child evaluated for the tics. Tics do not cause frequent falls. Rule out choreoathetosis and conditions such as Wilson's disease, Rheumatic fever, Hungtington's chorea and even Epilepsy.
