Question
B.C.G. is routinely given to the deltoid region in Pakistan it creates a scars of different sizes, to avoid that scar can it be given to other sites like below the ankle
Answer
BCG is as routine is given over the left deltoid region as initially the small pox vaccine was given over the right deltoid. Thus looking for the scar on the left side would confirm BCG vaccination and looking for a scar on right side would confirm small pox. Thus, it is by convention that BCG is given over left deltoid.
