Question
Chicken pox vaccine in the market is given s/c. The amount of vaccine is 0.5ml which may be too painful for one year child to be given subcutaneously. Can it be given intramuscular? Can it effect the immune level of the vaccine.
Answer
0.5ml is not a large quantity to be given subcutaneously. Just as Measles vaccine is given subcutaneously, so can varicella be given SC.
