Question
My daughter (21 months) was given BCG when she was less than 40 days. But she didn't develop the scar as mentioned in yr expert FAQ. Is it normal?
Answer
Most of the children who have received the BCG vaccine at birth develop the scar by 3-6 months of age. If the scar does not develop, one can do a Mantoux test and if negative, the vaccine can be repeated.
