Idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpera {ITP}
My 5yr old daughter was diagnosed with this blood disorder in Nov. 2004. It is now Feb. 2005 and still has ITP. Immune globulin treatment{no luck}. Winrho{work in progress}. Her platelet count climbs dramatically after these treatments, but her antibodies continue to recognize her platelets as the enemy. Count fails to maintain. No known cause? No known cure ? " The mystery of the blood diseases" as one of our Drs. call it. To look at my little girl, to watch her play, to listen to her sing,never would you think there was anything wrong. Patience,hope,LOVE, PRAYER, above all is our best medicine so far.
