Mechanism :
Osmotic dehydrating agent which increases osmotic pressure; draws fluid into colon and thus stimulates evacuation.
Indication :
- Constipation
- Mouth/throat irritation
Contraindications :
No contraindications.
Dosing :
Constipation: Rectal:
2 to <6 years:
One pediatric suppository once daily as needed.
≥6 years:
One adult suppository once daily as needed.
Mouth/throat irritation:
Oral:
Children ≥2 years and Adolescents:
Apply a one-inch strip directly to tongue and oral cavity as needed.
Adverse Effect :
Abdominal cramps, rectal irritation, tenesmus.
Interaction :
No known significant interactions.
Hepatic Dose :
No dosage adjustments are recommended.
