Chymotrypsin

Mechanism :

Chymotrypsin has ingredients that reduce swelling (inflammation) and tissue destruction.


Indication :

  • Anti-inflammatory agent
  • Proteolytic enzyme

Contraindications :

Contraindicated in patients with severe liver, kidney impairment, peptic ulcer, high vitreous pressure, and hypersensitivity.


Dosing :

Paediatric dose safety and efficacy not established.
For adults: Adult:
PO:
1,00,000 units 6 hourly PO ½ hour before meal.
Ophthalmic:
1-2 mL of a 1: 5,000 diluted solution.

Adverse Effect :

Severe allergic reactions in eyes with ophthalmic solution, increased eye pressure.


Interaction :

No known drug interactions found.



Hepatic Dose :

No dosage adjustments are recommended.
