Hexylresorcinol

Mechanism :

Elicits local anaesthetic effect.


Indication :

  • Provides temporary relief from occasional mouth and throat symptoms such as minor irritation, sore mouth and throat and pain.

Contraindications :

Hypersensitivity to drug/class/component.


Dosing :

Each lozenge contains 2.4 mg of drug.
<6 years:
Lozenges may cause choking, hence safety and efficacy are not established.
6 years or older:
Allow lozenge to slowly dissolve in the mouth; may be repeated as and when required. Not more than 10 lozenges/day should be taken.

Adverse Effect :

Lozenges may cause choking in younger children.


Interaction :

None.



Hepatic Dose :

Use with caution as liver damage may occur.
